Look here people. It's fine to have a difference of opinion. It's fine to debate facts.

NO Personal attacks will be tolerated at all in any way shape or form in this area. Even if it is in jest.

I'm not real comfortable at all about this thread, however I'm still very loopy from anesthesia yesterday and not thinking straight. With that in mind I'm not going to make any decisions today harder than how much 1/2 and 1/2 to put in my coffee. I ask you all to only debate facts as you see them.

This is an example of what is not tolerated. Jason, no reflection upon you, it was the first post that I see with something that is easy to cut and paste.

If you can't keep it civil I shall close the thread and ask that if you want to debate these types of things then you find a truly political forum and not a MINI forum.

    Thanks

Nathan, I have many times wondered why in the world a great forum like MA has this politics and messy stuff sub forum. I see no constructive purpose for it and a great deal of vile, vitriol and ill will as a result. Seems to me to be a place to put ones worst foot forward and create hard feelings. And as the collective "we" with such great cars and fun stuff in common this forum section is strikingly out of place.

I try to stay out of all political conversations because no one really wants to hear my point of view.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I am just glad we live in a country that his a world superpower defended by the brave that serve and we are all still free.

Nathan only use about a 1/4 cup or less of 1/2 & 1/2 if you have to use creamer over Fat Free Milk.

We had a rule on a forum I used to moderate--no discussion about Politics, Religion, or Computer Platforms. There is another rule I wanted to put in but never managed to get enough support for--"Thou shall not criticize a Moderator unless Thou hast actually Moderated a forum yourself," with swift and painful corporal punishment meted out to any violators.

It worked well, but it like this forum, there was a community of people who grew to know each other, with all the inherent likes/dislikes and factions that came along with that, and for whatever reason people would constantly post about current events. That would sometimes lead down the garden path to political discussion, and as long as it stayed civil, we pretty much ignored it (and often contributed to it). But as soon as there was a hint of conflict the thread was locked. People self-policed, and more often than not the threads stayed civil and informative, and open. Not always, but usually.

Can't do that with religion, it's too sensitive and really screws up a forum in a hurry.

My post was not intended to be a personal attack on anyone, I put that at the end of my post. If it was taken that way I am sorry. I am on this form to have a good time and help if I can with troubles people may have. Not to piss anyone off.
I do like a good debate and I never take it personal as long as there is no name calling.
I have been on the road for a week with little sleep so I may have tried to tone it down a little.
I stand by what I said. It was not pointed at anyone except the UN. I dont except anyone to agree and I will say it agin You don't have to agree with me to be a friend.

Sorry Nathan for making your job harder. I hope you feel better.

    Turtles are awesome!

It's not like you have to pet or walk them.

This is a good point. Easier to take care of then the hamster my daughter keeps wanting. That thing would turn into a snack for my 3 cats.

Too funny I drive my kids up the wall with that. I guess I'm not the only sicko.

World famous Turtles hit song, "Happy Together", is an appropriate suggestion these days. I think everyone needs a little more music in their lives.
