[The man the myth the legend.] I just don't know any of these guys by sight, so if it's not Dave.0, it must be Barry, right?
Barry is the dude with the most shrinkage in my picture. I'm still waiting for the first MOTD mugshot, it's taken longer than I'd expected.
Screen names would work, that way I can place the faces with them. Looks like everyone is having a good time. Glad to see the weather hasn't put a damper on things.
The pictures that Mr Jim posted: The first one is wmwny (Jeff) and putterfarm (Mark), Second is rum4 (Rick).
Been a right busy day, hence no posts. Of course would not be MOTD unless I break my car in some manner. Details to follow.
BIG truck stuck on the Dragon coming from the Tennessee side yesterday during the Sunrise run. The cab and cargo sections were twisted in opposite directions on one of the heavily canted S curve sections. Being Minis, and coming from the NC side, we were all able to squeeze by, as the accident had happened only moments before and emergency/tow equipment had not yet arrived. My car actually drove under a small portion of the truck's cargo section that was tilted upward as a result of the rear end hanging off the road. It's beyond belief that TN will not prohibit trucks from traveling this route. Someone told me that traffic from the TN direction was halted for 4 hours..:frown2: Had numerous Dragon runs later in the day. Virtually no traffic (considering there are 600+ Minis in the area). The R56 JCW really impresses me the more I drive it on these roads. I have ridden bikes on the Dragon as well as a couple of high performance cars (GT3 and Z06), and the R56 JCW, with sticky rubber and a mildly firmed up suspension equals or bests them in sheer fun factor. I can drive this car closer to the limit, with very little drama. Adding coil overs and a slightly lower ride height must be a serious E ticket ride in these cars! I may have to look into that next.
Thank you sir! Can we get updates as the pics come in? People that can remember everyone that they may have bumped into over the years amaze me. I had a Marine that deployed with me to Iraq that could not go anywhere without bumping into someone he had meet over the years. We were in foregin country, in the middle of the desert, blew my mind.
I've owned several ground-pounding V8s and a bunch of 4-cylinder coupes and roadsters, and I always think it's more fun to drive a slower car fast than a faster car slow (except on a track like Road America with long straights).
Keep an eye out for my man Tiger in his coupe, he said he got seasick yesterday on a run! :biggrin5: Say hi if you see him!
