Here is one I photographed last year restored to 100-percent original spec. It sold for $385,000 at auction. Old Porsches are HOT right now. I haven't been to SEMA in a few years, so thanks to the OP for the coverage. But, no "booth babe" shots? CD
My neighbor across from the shop has two very nice Porsche vehicles... The 1961 was pretty much a "Barn" find he brought back to original condition... http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/members/metalman-albums-bill-marie-s-1961-356-porsche.html
Seems that way to me, too, but my customer didn't agree with that logic. They figured it was worth one less zero. However, I did get to drive it, and made a new friend. The seller is a really cool guy. BTW, I'm still waiting for some SEMA "booth babe" shots. CD
TBH, the booth babe phenomena is tired, and I don't think it sells as well as exhibitors hope. I have observed exhibits where they spent money on a babe to make a splash. Largely, it fails. It does attract a certain segment of show-goers, who stop and grab greedy ogles at dem titties, and then walk away, ignorant of the products that dem titties were designed to lure. As far as my favorite car, there were many beautiful cars. I guess that Porsche would have been up there. Pre '65 cars are more and more compelling to me as time goes on. Unfortunately, I'm not alone so buying one is a remote possibility. I was lucky to get in early on my '70. Below is the way to enjoy a car, BTW. ^That was pretty funny^ Okay, last installment with a cool old racekor, and two from the 'because-f-you-that-why' file: This big rig's engine cover was cut to look exploded out and reveal the engine. Some pretty good airbrush work, although it had nothing on Dick's work.
