I agree with Dave.... the G4 guys were great and very knowledgable about what they were doing. Hey Graham, feel like installing the diffuser on my R56 and the additional spoiler next Dragon?
I thought that was your car in the pic Dave. Email me about their stuff please or send me a PM and I'll give you a call.
Looks like I will be making a high speed run on the PA Autobaun (Turn Pike) from Philly to Pittsburgh in my future. Valentine V1 + lots of power + Meth & cruise control set over 100 + MPN = fun for hours. Heck the only catching me is a helicopper and a radio call to a trooper on the ground. CANNONBALL RUN! We will need to install my modded GP/JCW wing and Rear defusers.
I thought you had to get your exhaust changed and battery removed to run straight exhaust for the rear diffuser?????????
I'm going to call them next week--I'm pretty much on board for the splitter and rear wing (once Graham has it sorted out), have to check about underpanels, and that is a GREAT question about the rear diffuser. I have the JCW exhaust, I'm hoping there's a way to fit a rear diffuser and not swap the exhaust.
Yes and no. We did a test fitting of the Clubbie diffuser on my car and there is room between the spread exhaust that I have. So that would be another option. However, either way the exhaust needs to be modified on an R53. More fodder for my axiom that for each mod and equal or greater mod is required.
ODD Someone I talked too from G4 said something different. I guess time will tell and I'll know more myself when I'm in Detroit next weekend. I do know that I'll have to get a new rear cover. Don't want to hack up the GP one.
prolly depends on what exhaust you're running. i.e. the milltek cans are significantly smaller than the stockers. so, once again, you are my guinea pig dave. if it fits your car, i may have to be the cabrio beta tester:cornut: don't think the splitter's gonna work for me. i'm too low and drive on the roads of afghanistan....er philly.
I'm going to ask them specifically about the splitter--I'm hoping it's easy to remove; I 'd take it off except for the track if it's easily removable. Either way though, I'm probably getting it.
A removable splitter would be nice. I know I can't run with one on daily bases. Curious to see about the rear defuser. Hope it works with a regular aero kit and JCW exhaust.
I was supposed to get a diffuser at the Dragon, but the ones they had won't fit my Milltek. Wayne said he will go back to the drawing board and make one that will be more aftermarket exhaust usable. Hopefully I'll have it on the car during MME in July.
I had a diffuser installed on my GP at the Dragon. The only thing needing cut was a cheap part of the rear fascia. I did have to delete my JCW exhaust and replace it with a straight pipe with a Mangnaflow muffler. We did some some work to the battery box but in hind site may not be needed. The Group 4 diffuser, tied into the GP's belly pans, has been a very noticeable upgrade in performance. I'm looking forward to their GP~inspired wing on steroids and hopefully getting to try it. I'm planning to get the GP on the track at the end of the month and really see how everything works there. You'll have to check out the car and kit on their website once they are up and rolling next month.
GP Steve Can you do some pics of your car. I also have a GP and have been wondering about this setup. I really don't want to tear up the rear Fascia on my car. Also how load is the exhaust. I have the RMW race exhaust on my car and really don't want to change it. I know G4 is working on a diffusser that won't need exhaust change. Thanks ahead of time if you can get some pics. Nathan I think it's about time to get all the G4 stuff off this thread and start a G4 one.
