Yep ...side oiler 427 and a top load 4 speed is the only way to build a replica IMHO

Mark the last few years there have been a group of Cobra guys that came up to the vintage races at Mid-Ohio. Sort of a Cobra mini show right there in the infield.
Maybe your only way for a build, but mine would be a 289 FIA replica. It's a nice dream ride. :sleep: -
I am not exactly close enough to attend, but I did buy a few tickets, it is a good cause after all.
I am sure there will be some great pics and video to check out. -

I am with Chuck give me a 289 pepper white with navy blue stripes and side pipes. People always forget it was teh 289's that won the races! That and the fender flares look a bit cartoonie to me
