Sweet, although I still want to know why the JCW badge has a surf board in it.

We left the dealer, and I was behind in Poco, and I saw Lois blew that other eyeball right off:lol:

Just a thought. Did you remove the bazillion layers of Prima under that new badge. They are crazy expensive to replace if it falls off.

Well the JCW is great, but guess what, the bloody clutch went out coming home from dinner tonight:mad2: Thought the revs were climbing WAY faster than the car was reacting to it, smelt clutch burning, going up a slight incline, it just would not climb, and within a few hundred feet we were coasting to a stop. Dark road, just after a few curves, not a good place to be. We were just outside a park and a Ranger sat behind us until the wrecker can, nearly 2 hours later:rolleyes5:
Going to bed now

Oh no!! Are you going to be able to get it fixed for MTTS?
-
Not sure if it matters to you but (at least on coupes) when a JCW Stage I kit is installed, the Cooper S emblem is taken off and the JCW emblem is installed by itself.
The only thing differentiating it then from a factory JCW is the Stage I JCW emblem is on the opposite side.
Not sure that works for clubmans but I was told that by the tech that installs JCW Stage I kits that did mine on my '08.
Food for thought...

So the plan is, be at the dealer before the crack of the first Sparrow fart, deal with the paper work, get a loaner, and drive it to MITM. If for some reason that does not work out, we will take Poco, the 03 justa. I know they have Clubman loaners, but a coupe would work also, just the dogs would be a bit cramped.

I'm now starting to wonder if the fact the starter went bad, grinding away on the flywheel if that may have had anything to do with it.
It happened real fast, with no problems before yesterday. I also wonder if the extra HP just sped up the problem. I'm happy:rolleyes5: it happened here though, and not on some mountain pass in Colorado, or in the middle of Kansas, with 2 dogs, our stuff, and temps that look like they will be close to 100F. -
Sorry to hear of your troubles. Glad it was before y'all left for the journey tho. Book says 12 hrs for a clutch, a tech worth his salt can do it in less. I'd cajole the dealer into getting it done on Monday reminding them you are headed to MTTS / MITM and all the goodwill you can spread about what a wonderful job the dealer did getting you off in time.
I'll wave as I zip through St Louis tomorrow on the way to Indy. -

I'm sure they will do all they can for us, I think they like us:lol: Even if we did not get it back till midday Tuesday, we could still make our planned overnight stop in Colby Kansas. We would likely motor with zinful then.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Talk the dealer into a JCW Clubman and put all the wear and tear on the loaner.
