Unfortunately the closest really good independent mechanic that really knows his MINI's is Chad at Detroit Tuned. I sure wish he'd open a shop in Columbus.

Who are you dealing with at MAG?

 

The reason I asked in post 2 is because if you haven't talked to Sam Meyers at MAG you need to before casting them aside. He is great to work with.

 

MAG is good at what they do. They do charge a premium for that service that is hard for mere mortals to deal with at times. Sure would be nice to have another option. Once a MINI goes out of warranty that becomes more important.

Looks like they're right up the street from me. Nearly. Do they do the computer reset for oil changes and the like? I mean the time to service thing.

 

No idea, but I am pretty sure you can do that yourself. I swore I used to after oil changes.... If that is the case I would bet they could too!

Recently we found a great shop in Columbus, it's called Best Motor Werks. It's run by John Best his shop is near the Port Columbus airport off of Fifth ave. call him at 614-236-5151
He did a great job on our 2007 R56

 

I've recently become aware of him. I plan to pop over & have a chat with him.

I wish Chad were here in Columbus.

I used to talk to him a good bit when I had my e28. Nice guy and knows BMWs. Good to know he is doing MINIs now also.
