Cheapest bang for you buck is a real good set of tires.

If you're still running the runflats, ditching them will help a lot!
And lightweight rims AND tires? Even better, but that's usually more $$$.
For example, my buddy has about 25 or 30 more HP then I do.
When he's on his heavy stock wheels we're about equal to me on my lightweight wheels.
When we're both running equivalent rims/tires he walks away easily from me at freeway speeds.

Joking aside the basic fundamental approach to the least expensive hp gain is a thorough tune up and running gear evaluation. I have seldom ever seen MINIs having new performance parts installed and a dyno with ECU tune with this simple task accomplished?

There you go... Being all reasonable...
cheap and easy power. Put on a pulley. Then save your money for some of the things that really work. Look a CAI costs what $100-$200 and gets more sound than power. That's a big step towards a tune or a head. About half the cost of a camshaft.
IF there were tons of cheap power on the car, it wouldn't cost a lot to get tunes, headwork, or other stuff. Because of knock sensor technology, pretty much all engines deliver more of thier potential without spending big money. All the nice and easy bolt ons, at best, give a bit of a bump. But when it comes to the basics of making real power, more air in, exhaust out and more pressure on the piston when it counts, there is little new under the sun.
The absolute best way to make any MINI faster is a touch of suspension work, and driver training. Tighten the nut behind the wheel.
Oh, and an Ian Cull circuit from FES. No first gen is complete without one!

ps, Mike, I've posted some real knowledge in the other chip thread. -
Thanks Dr. but I always like to advise on what I have done/ used/ am using... cool??
Thus the question has anyone USED or are USING the G force Chip. All the theory in the world can be a bit different than rubber to the road.
Dont get me wrong here.. all you and others have said is a good thing.... except no one who is using the G Force has told there experience. It is all conjecture and theory, yes??
As for cost... hell the schrick is a 7 hp gain and is 400.00!! there are high dollar headers out there that might be good for 10 whp. This platform ( the MINI) is full of hype and mis directed opinions on performance parts.. thus the NEED to actually experience the benefits. Cool??
Yes.. I have one and Yes, I will test it.. I was just curious as to others RESULTS, but it seems there are none. LOL
CAI is the first I would do.. HP increase is small but the sound is priceless!!
Same with a 1-ball or a cat back.. there is again a bit more power, however the Sound rocks!!
Power?? easiest way is one of two camshafts designed for the r50/r53s that work great with OUT a tune.. NS1 and NS2. They can be installed in a few hours, or at least a sat.
Pulley.. needs puller and a bit of a hassle.. but good for an easy 20-25 WHP!
Head.. there are now a few to choose from, usual bolt on power is 23-28 WHP ( with out tune)
Header.. and gasket matched intake.. a few more ponies, but now you are starting to pull everything together. Headers with cat. 8-10 WHP / Matched intake 5-10 HP
Tune... "they say*" 20-30 WHP I see an average of 12-20 whp. I actually am SWAGing this as I am STILL un tuned. (* from posts on forums)
Of course all this is BS , as these cars are soooooo different in ECU and years of manfg. but it is a good guide. ( lol yes I dyno'd ALL my mods befor and after..LOL)
Hope this helps.. and I didnt step on any toes.. LOL

Seems we either totally confused, or frightened away the OP.

Who uses or used it and what are your findings... !!
Seems there are no one on this site, and I am the only one!! LOL
SOooo... when I get my O2 replaced, I will try it on my un-tuned 06.
Just me...................................

PS: if the thing does NOT work, you just un plug!! and the ECU go back to where it was.

Please...
if you want to keep going on this chip gizmo, post in the thread about it! That isn't hard. All one has to do is choose to put content there.

LOL... I didnt know about the other post...lol

Pulley... 1-ball, NS1 Camshaft..( 200-250 installed- 35.00-40.00 - 450-500.00 ) should be under your 1000.00 sound better and go faster..

This would be a good read. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/mini-stuff/3901-mini-parts-upgrades-think.html
If the car is new to you, spending some money on having it thoroughly checked out by a MINI tech. would be money well spent.

100% TRUE!! This is the FIRST thing!!
Thanks Mark!!
