Welcome Aboard!
There are a lot of good post on the board about what to look for and the differences between cars. There are some years that are better than others just like wine. The mileage on a car depends on how it was taken care of.
Do you research on what you want. Then when you are looking research the car. Ask your local dealer to check the service history. Get a Car Fax, it won't tell you everything but it will help.
Also contact you local MINI group. They own the cars and will be a great source help and support.
