Winner Geoff Bennette, 61, is going to make a new Mini Cooper one of his first purchases. Mr Bennette and his wife Hilary, 54, also have plans to visit Australia and New Zealand after the numbers on the ticket bought from Tesco Extra in Acrington came up in the draw. The father of three, who volunteers at sporting events across Britain, kept a promise to help out at a local competition just hours after he found out about the lottery prize. He said: "I had already promised to help out at a local sporting event on Sunday and I didn't want to let them down so we just told immediate family the news and I went along to the event as planned. "I managed to keep the news to myself all day but Hilary and I celebrated with a bottle of champagne when I got home that night before calling Camelot first thing on Monday morning." The couple from Blackburn, Lancashire, also revealed plans to relocate to the seaside in a few years' time. Source - Lottery winner to buy Mini Cooper - Motoring News - RAC
