I'm guessing this brand of cigarettes wasn't sold in the US, so the black-and-gold history may not be well known. This is a 1970s Lotus F1 car which was, I think, the first major international tobacco sponsorship of a racing car - it wasn't just in car design that Colin Chapman was an innovator!
JPS was not a US Brand, still isn't. One would have to visit a specialty tobacconist to find JPS and Silk Cut here in the states.

Renault Alpine, I bet: Snap! And to put the Alpine in some perspective, while it is 11" longer than a R56, it is also 7" narrower and has a 8" shorter wheelbase, so it's really quite a small car.
