I loved seeing those pics again. Thanks for the transfer.

I see this and I so want to smooth in a new hood scoop and remove the MINI logo from the bonnet. Should I ever need a respray, it's gonna happen. :D

I bought them from someone else that had them imported from Japan. Sorry I don't have more info on where to get them than that.

Here's the company in Japan.... Not cheap at all.... Big bucks...http://www.craftsquare.co.jp/tc_corner_import.html

There is a company here in the US that has them..... I'm a little foggy as to the name.... They supply the Lotus community..... I'll think of it and post once my brain cells align and start firing correctly....:D

I was really pissed when I walked out that day and found holes cut in the bonnet of my TR7, though.

Two years ago there was a MINI parked next to Blimey (after the off road experience) at the car show with louvers down toward the drivers front and the open cone was placed directly behind them. The owner said he cut and made them in the bonnet himself. Don't know who he was, but it was a nice job.

BTW: saw Blimey, but not you. :D

    Looks great, man! :biggrin5:

Perhaps when I have the ca$h to rent (or, better yet, buy) a welder and to get my bonnet re-shot the proper BRG (long story - the cheeseball dealer where I bought it re-shot it almost the right shade of green) I'll find a donor TR7 and follow down your path. Looks like you sacrificed your window washers for the cause, but, hey, that leaves the reservoir and pump available for spraying water/methanol on the intercooler....

For the time being, I have add-on vents like Helix Wildebeest's, with socket-head screws to give it a somewhat "industrial" look -- hey, if I have to look at screws, I'd rather they say "GR-RRR!", than "Sorry, I couldn't find a way to hide these screws."

    C ya,

:cornut: When Margi(08 R56 BRG MCS/JCWm) was in the body shop recently I saw a 'souped up'(I'm 60yrs old so I don't know the politically correct 2013 jargon) Honda Civic and noticed an interesting way to vent the engine compartment. Between the body/hinges/bonnet had been placed 3/4in rhomboid shaped spacers(blending with the curvature of the bonnet) allowing exit of hot air from the engine compartment and up over the wind shield. The spacers looked professionally done and the slightly elevated proximal bonnet(closest to the wind shield) was only noticeable close up. Has anyone else seen this method or had experience with it? Does/would it work? Looking at it, Metalman could probably run these off in his spare time in various different colors.

I'm wondering if the if the air pressure under the hood can over come the high pressure area at the base of the windshield. All of the times I have seen opening at the rear of the hood it is for cowl induction.

Here's an idea on an R53 open up the plastic wall on the passenger side and get one the vent scoops and turn it around. May be the hot air will be sucked out by the flowing air.
