Hi there. I'm in Hendersonville and love my first "new to me" 2006 Justa. It's becoming quite a new obsession. I'm also new to forums and clubs but I'd love to ask a question. Where is the best place to obtain a 2011 update DVD for the navigation system in a 2006 Mini Cooper, besides the dealer? Their price is 200. Glad to be here. I'd love to catch one of those meet ups. Arby.
Don't have factory Nav, so I can't help ya there, but I do have a "justa" and love it too. Welcome to the best site around. Jim
Hi Arby, welcome to M/A. I don't have an answer for you but you might find something in the ICE & Nav forums (Gen1 & Gen2). If you don't find anything useful you might want to post the same question in one of those areas.
Welcome I have owned my Justa for 8 years and 9 months. It still makes me grin every time I drive it.
'scuse my ignorance but just what is a "Justa"? never heard the term in the UK - We do have a term Bitsa which we call kit cars "bitsa" being bits oif this and bits of that ! quote ; England and America are two countries separated by a common language. George Bernard Shaw Irish dramatist & socialist (1856 - 1950)
It's not a "S", it's just a cooper........ "Justa" That's not to say, it could be a "Justa Bitsa" as well.
You have to forgive my friend. He's come by the name second hand. As one of the people who have coined the term, the proper spelling is justacooper. It was shortened to Justa some time later. The term was created after a couple of guys in Southern California would show up to local BMWCCA AutoX and routinely place ahead of their harder breathing brethren.
That could be taken as somewhat derogatory, and it has been used that way. I.e., I couldn't be seen in just a Cooper, I had to have an S. Many of us took some exception to this attitude, knowing there's more to a Cooper than meets the eye, and took up the mantle proudly. The JustaCooper (or Justa for short) Owners Club was born! ------------ edit: must type faster...
The "S" folks seem to forget that the regular cooper came FIRST, the the "s" followed as an "after thought". It was never even considered by the designer. Jim
Nah Jim....... The designer sitting in the back corner of the room..... the one with the huge goofy grin on his face, had nothing but that on his mind. Chuck
I hate to blow a hole in that logic, but R52 was not introduced till 2005, some three years after R50 and R53.
Same designer working back in the corner of the room.... Same goofy grin on his face..... Started with the R50.... Had a plan.... took it to fruition..... Yesssssss...."S" Chuck
