Don't give T.P. A BAD NAME!! Just a though. It is covered in crap, it still has lead a useful life....that's better than some can say.
Ok I am not a big follower of any particular form of public media, I do check out Instagram every once in a while to see what the grandchildren are up to. So I have to ask, why would someone publicly display their laziness/ignorance? I would have taken that in the woods in the cover of darkness and buried it, I wouldn't' even want my trash collector to see that mess.
I replied to the guy's post like " I hope that's the air conditioning filter not the engine one...." He answered "Nope. It the engine one". I don't get it. Even if you take your car to jiffy lube they will inspect and replace the air filter. I wonder when this person last had their oil changed? That's the kind of person who gives our cars a bad name. He'll be complaining about his failed engine at 70k miles and blaming the car.
This is an example of what may be happening as a result of fewer car owners having an understanding of required maintenance responsibilities and taking the term Lifetime far too literally. The basics of regularly changing air, oil and fuel filters and the associated fluids is exactly that. Lifetime is a dreaded TV network (sorry babe) and has nothing to do with fluids and filters.
I've worked on a lot of cars over the years. I've taken some very high mileage filters out & never seen one ripped to shreds like that. Lots of dirt, but always an intact filter. Odd one for sure. Back on topic..... Sorry I forget what the topic is.....
Ha! Better check your post in the which race track thread old timer. Back on topic...... Scott is an old fart.
Just think of the next poor sucker stuck with cars rhat were treated and maintained like that... Makes me nervous about buying used....
A nasty air filter doesn't scare me, but what about that oil filter & a sump full of sludge? Yikes.....
