AMVIV 7 is just around the corner. For those who don't know, if there are any, this year it is being held at a new and better location. Better facilities, better rooms, better plan. Please look it up at www.amviv.com. The web site is a bit.. blah.. but it has all the info. If you plan to attend, be advised that the rooms at the discount rate are almost sold out, so you better get a move on. Not sure if our fearless leader will attend, but I will be there and I am planning to have an M|A tent set up amongst the vendors. Please stop by, hang out, or help out. Lets get an unofficial roll call of M|A people going. It would be nice to have a decent showing. P.S. I am planning to make the Saturday dinner, also.
whoa... um... "first?" (kidding!) i'll definitely be there. got my room reserved, days off work already, too! i haven't seen any info about the saturday dinner being a "go". if so, i'll probably be there too!
Just got the word from the "birdie" that there is no dinner. Which just means that Saturday will open. Keep an eye out for an MA tent. Just sayn'.
I'll be there... with the family. But I gotta say, all the stuff on the site is from last year! Who knows what's scheduled... Matt
I'll be there again, but I never stay at Palace I always use my HiltonHonors rewards for free accommodations. Phil Wicks at Las Vegas Speedway this year, what happend to Spring Mountain Motorsport Ranch this year?
I thought they were based there too, but the change is kinda nice considering been to Spring Mountain Ranch like 4 times and never been to LVSW even though its not a dedicated track, its something new. And a lot closer to AMVIV activities.
Depends on how we run there... one time it was a really crappy run layout in the infied. And the rent a racer program was using the high banked oval just teasing us all! Spring mountain is a really nice track. Matt
Yeah, the Speedway infield is not a good option. First, it's completely flat. Second, it's really short. Third, it is (at least was, back in 2006) an extremely abrasive surface that was tearing up softer tires like nobody's bidness. I never ran Spring Mountain, but it at least appeared to be an interesting and challenging course. By the way, just received an email from Wicks touting a track day in May at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Desert Center, CA! Took some Google-ing before I accepted that it was not an intentional joke... _Dave_
I've never been a fan of Vegas ('course Aliante is closer to Utah anyway), or driving for 5 hours without cruise control, but I'm in for a couple days so Way finally can install the brand new suspension we've been emailing about for months!
It would come in handy for the drive home for sure. Saving $250 by not getting a MFSW hasn't really paid off!
