Thanks for the warm welcome ladies I can see the beneficence of ma is in stark contrast to the gestapo tactics over there at nam. (Fart) I can explain it, but I can't learn it for them. Glad to be aboard
This irony is what struck me as well, complete with the . Power to the people, brothers. In defense of NAM (did that just come out of my computer?), NAM isn't, and never was, intended to be a democracy, just as MA isn't. They are businesses that allow members to create content as they sell advertising. Their goal is to maximize traffic, not create a love-in among MINI owners. It is standard practice to block traffic on competing sites, many car forums are much more draconian than NAM (primarily because NAM is a rudderless ship). MA is unusual in that it allows links to competing sites, which is part of its business model. It's a model I like.
You would think NAM would allow MA comments and links now since it's about the only traffic they get besides Way trolling for sales.
I stop in over there at least once a day. They have a lot more 3rd Gen traffic than we do on MA. I'm starting to think that I'm the only one on MA with a F car. :cornut:
I joined NAM on May22 and posted my obligatory intro same day. Clearly, not long enough to get a sense of moderator "style" but I will say that place is dead. New thread posts seem to go unanswered, other than by a few friendly advertising vendors. I read the subject thread over there with interest, which promoted me to check out MA. Happy I did! Registered here right away but there was a glitch and delay in getting my new member "welcome email", even after several repeated attempts. Subsequently sent message directly to an MA Administrator which finally allowed me to post my intro in Starting Line. Worth the wait! (emoticons are more fun here too... :yesnod: )
MCS4FUN Welcome to M/A... It's more fun here if your skin is a little thicker and if you can take a joke... It's all harmeless
MA is much better believe me. If you want to learn how to change your oil head over there to nam. Lmfao! Check out this threads pages of responses. http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/r56-hatch-talk-2007/291948-are-diy-oil-changes-still-even-do-able.html Truly intriguing how complex they made this thing! I mean my god, I felt like I lost some intelligence reading it. Too funny. Just move the res and pull the f'n filter out you green flock of stoolies!
