Well... A year in development and now after three hours of testing I can see that the bearings are running hot. Time to pull it apart for tweaking... Sigh....

 

Bearing alignment issue?

We used frickin lazers to align bearings in big equipment at my plant.

 

Absolutely.. It is like getting a haircut. It's easier to get it cut off than to put it all back on...

 

We use roller bearings on ship's turbochargers that are as big as the pump in the photo. But they have their own lubricating system using old fashioned dino oil rather than the oil in the media that is being pumped.

They run for weeks at a time at around 7000 rpm. We overhaul them every couple of years based on hours run, in a preventative maintenance program.

Must be one hell of a big refrigeration plant or freezer or building to cool to require a pump that big, based on your location I think I know who you work for BRG Paul... :biggrin5:

I'm sporting handles from ice cream shops as wel... oh. You mean you MADE the handles. In my case, the ice cream made the (love) handles. :blush2:
