Very close...
I'll be involved in a cafeteria remodeling project that will require some special custom stainless steel work at their self serve line, one area happens to be at the salad bar....:biggrin5: -

Someone once said.... "Put a big enough engine on it, and you can make a rock fly"...
You brought me back to this....

I was asked to contribute to a good cause in town. The Columbus Museum of Art will conduct an auction on Friday (tomorrow). The plan called for 15 Herman Miller chairs to be given out to 15 separate contestants to be modified in some unique way. The pieces would then be auctioned off to the highest bidder with proceeds going to the museum...
Started with a rudimentary sketch of what might be called a personal bar for a single individual...
The idea was to take a regular seating height chair and make it into a bar height seating structure.... Keep in mind, none of these submittals are to be taken too seriously... More of a fun thing...
Started cutting and bending pieces...
Welding started first thing this morning...
Finished by 11:00am today...
A piece of white marble will fit the top framework... This surface is for drink preparation and final resting place during consumption... The small cutout and shelf will support and present two bottles of liquor...
Parts are over with Josh for a semi-gloss clear powder coat... -

The horizontal tube in front of the chair feet is a perfect foot rest...
I rest my case... -
Now I see what you are referring to. You can hook your heels on it and that will work. Having spent a few hours on a bar stool, I like my feet a bit more out in front of me. Helps for better stabilization after the third beer.
