Brass is very important to this place, a play on the name "Brassica", which really has to do with vegetables related to the mustard family... When looking for fasteners in brass, there isn't much available... I went with brass binding screws with the dome towards the street, and they penetrate through the entire solid core door.... I'm pretty sure you would need to pull it off with a chain attached to a trailer hitch... The front door pull has 16 of these babies... I've been known to over engineer this stuff...

Some of my N scale I've had for 42 years. It's been built and taken down a bunch of times. This lay out is the most elaborate. Since it looks like there is some model train interest. I get some more pics and start another thread.

Reminds me of the Parrot and Chicken Joke...

    ---

A man received a parrot for his birthday. The parrot was fully grown, with a bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was an expletive. Those that weren't expletives were, to say the least, rude.

The man tried hard to change the bird's attitude and was constantly saying polite words, playing soft music, anything he could think of to try and set a good example. Nothing worked. He yelled at the bird and the bird yelled back.

He shook the bird and the bird just got more angry and more rude. Finally, in a moment of desperation, the man put the parrot in the freezer. For a few moments he heard the bird squawk and kick and scream. Then suddenly there was quiet. Not a sound for half a minute. The man was frightened that he might have hurt the bird and quickly opened the freezer door.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto the man's extended arm and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I will endeavor at once to correct my behavior. I really am truly sorry and beg your forgiveness." The man was astonished at the bird's change in attitude and was about to ask what had made such a dramatic change when the parrot continued, "May I ask what the chicken did?"

OK, ya'll are going to love this one. I told my wife, last night, that building this coop has been fun, because it is one of the first things around here where everything is exactly square and all the measurements came out perfectly. She then looks at me and says:

    "That's because it isn't Justa Coop. It's and S". :mad2:

    True story....
I just completed a 50 piece order a week ago that used a drill bit to cut a square hole 1" deep in an aluminum bushing for a customer....

Oh, and Home Depot doesn't sell them....

This may explain how it's done.....:D

MM: No reason you can't make your daughter one out of metal. The design is based on a traveling tack box, used by the RCMP and their's is metal.

Jason: My farrier works out of his own truck. He doesn't ride my horse and I don't attempt to nail on shoes.

When I first saw that picture, I read "Tackle Box" instead of "Tack Box".

I thought, "How's he going to get that in his boat?":eek:
