We could have bought a base model MINI for the cost of the materials.
My neighbor has a nice Miller mig welder and a spool gun. He hadn't welded aluminum before, but I had. We practiced a little on some scrap aluminum before we started. We used three and a half 300 cubic foot bottles of argon for the project.
The aluminum doesn't get immersed in seawater but it does get spray. The other neighbor's aluminum dock hasn't had any corrosion and it is seven years old.

Nice job Chuck. I can use a couple of those for my dream garage. I also need a custom drip pan to slide under the Ferrari 250 GTO. Yes that's right, it's leaking earl on the marble floor.

When I worked for Jaguar in Sandy Eggo in the early 90's, I sold a new XJ-6 to a lovely couple from Rancho Bernardo to replace their Rolls.....the garage was carpeted with a light mauve colored carpet and the damn Rolls leaked oil!

Kinda like a Harley. Everyone that bought one got the cardboard that the bike came in. I wouldn't know I got me an Indian.

I get a lot of business doing custom stainless countertops for local restaurants....
This one happens to be for a church with the kitchen in the basement.... Worked out to over 40 Lf of countertop....
Had to be made as a "bolt together" assembly to make it easier to get into the kitchen....
They wanted the sink bowl to have a drain board...
Just finished making it Friday and it gets installed tomorrow....
It's a big one...
Sink with drain board
Tight fitting "bolt together" joint....
They should be good for their upcoming Friday "Fish Fry" dinner... -
QUALITY.

Thanks guys...
Yesterday the two brass shelves that go on both sides of the fireplace were made. Next week the brushed finish will get applied to the brass surface and then a clear powder coat over the top to prevent the raw brass from tarnishing... It will be super critical that all fingerprints be removed from the brass before the clear is applied... If not, the fingerprints will re-appear over time under the clear almost like a photograph slowly developing.
Made from 1/8" thick brass sheet...

Yes, sorry for not being clear, I meant the fireplace column and do you know what it was made of?

You have a brake that will bend an 8ft long piece of 1/8" thick sheet metal?
