Was out and about today makin deliveries of finished weldments.... Went by the new MAG MINI location.... Still un-crating what looks to be SA desks and misc. furniture.... No MINI sign on the outside of the building yet... Bigga storm comin..... Anticipate further delays....
The employees at MAG are for the most part great people. My wife worked there years ago and we know most of the Land Rover staff. The problem with the place is the ownership and the way that the employee's hands are tied to really take care for the customer. Just remember this when you have a bad experience. The staff is doing everything they can without being fired. I really wish Kelly or Buyers would sell mini's, both have always bent over backwards for even the smallest thing I went in there for. My .02
very interesting to know, and very troubling as well...downside of Mini being a niche automaker....so few dealerships, there is no competition locally to keep them interested in exceptional customer service....
I would agree with that as well. I think that when you have a dealership like MAG that has a very high end clientele, they aren't as concerned with the relationship with the buyer's of their lower end brands. I know several people over the years that said they felt like second class citizens when they walked on to the Post Rd. campus and the sales people discovered they were there to look at VWs. When you hear about the events that other dealers host/sponsor, it always made me wonder if MAG's heart was really in to embracing the MINI culture. Buying some Subway sandwiches is nice, but always seemed like putting out the minimal effort for it's customers. Maybe the new location will make it more accessible/noticeable and allow for better separation from the BMW inventory and let the brand stand out more on it's own.
I don't know everyone at MAG. Some were great people & some were jerks. Sort of like the real world. The best one who happened to be a friend & a help to all MINI owner's has moved on. That's a real shame & a big loss for MAG.
Thanks, but, I'll take their "control" over that of the ones in Cincy..... Besides, Dublin is way closer for me.
I don't find myself down cincy way very often. But I've had plenty of good dealings with MAG. Plus going over there gives me a chance to drool over cars I'll probably never be able to afford. :biggrin5:
I live on the north edge of Piqua, along I-75 and about 2 miles from US 36. MAG is about 68 miles from my house. Cinci MINI is close to 100 miles from me and I have to travel down 75 to 275 to 71 to get there...just too far, and then there is all that heavy, fast traffic. 36 is lightly traveled and ties right into 33/161.... BTW, FWIW, I totally agree with the quote on your sig!
Stopped by MINI of Dublin (new name, formerly MAG MINi), toured the new building and had a headlight assembly replaced under warranty because it was fogging when wet. The building design and layout is really nice. They have a new MA in Service, his name is Cassidy Lowe and he came from Mercedes. Seems to be a good guy and understands the difference between those that buy cars for transportation and those that are enthusiasts. Handled my situation nicely. They have also hired a new salesperson that is a ball of fire and focused on learning the MINI product and lifestyle. Her name is Paula Ross and I expect to see her get involved with the MoM group in the near future. Found a new iPhone case while there
I met Paula a few weeks ago and introduced her to the MINI...well, the '06 R53I have with the orange wheels. She LOVED it and took copious pics of it, along with my license plate. Then, last week, she came running over with a copy of MC2's Dragon layout from 2012, and my plate was pictured ... she was sooo excited! Yep, she is a REAL ball of fire!
