Have a couple of days off before going to Sandy Eggo, so tomorrow both MINIs are getting a real good scrubbing behind the ears. I'll post pics as the day goes on. Mark
I had major grasshopper carnage on my front end..similar to Nate's. 3 large waffle weave towels soaked in warm water took care of the mess in about 10 minutes. Will post pix later. So did I read that right...you are in San Diego?
Since I got back from MITM all I've had any time to clean is the windshield, which was gross. Tomorrow will consist of a very thorough washing, followed by both Pre Wow, and Black Wow. maybe give the OG Epic polish routine a try, and some cloth/leather cleaning and treating. I get into San Diego on Friday. Mark
You going to have a chance to come up North and swing by the shop? I got a NAMer from NYC visiting me this week, lol.
NAMers are great folks I'll leave it at that. I won't have time to visit, wish I did though, long days all week, plus I won't have any wheels. Venue is a hotel ballroom, and I'm staying in the same hotel, so no rental car. One of my wash buckets has a cracked bottom, so off to Lowes to get a new one. Mark
Taking a break, camera memory card is full, so I dumped it, will post pics later. Pre Wow is the product of the year Both MINIs are clean, Clubman is getting the "Works" black trim treatment right now. Mark
Major baked on bugs. Pre-soaking, to re-hydrate the bugs. Wet towels laid over soapy water. Clean MINIs. Mark
This is what my front end looked like... I cleaned mine the same way as Mark did using lots of warm wet towels. After about 15 minutes, all the guts and body parts were soft and easily rinsed off without causing any further damage.
I'm very familiar with bug removal. That's one nights worth, it was a daily soaking and bath for all leading edges. Most of the rest of the car would be clean. Mark
I found this. And I had to deal with a lot of this, as dirt roads were where I used to play up there. But you get to do this while soaking. The old boy still looks pretty good. Mark
Need a new bucket and feeling flush? Zaino makes a bucket!!! Grit guard, sealed O-ring lid and it will handle a145lb weight on top. If you live in an appt. and have to drag your wash water to a wand wash, the screw on, watertight lid is a must have.
