108 in STL metro yesterday, a record.
My MINI thermometer was 112-113 on my evening commute, driving in stop-n-go on I-70, surrounded by cars and heat-trapping concrete.
Supposed to cool off some on Sunday: 102. Oh, that's LOTS better.

Humidity is way up there today. I can only work outside for 30 minutes at a stretch. I feel for those folks to have to work outside all day in this kind of heat.
I'll bet Nathan, coming from Texas, thinks this is pleasant.

It has been hitting 100 degrees most days here in Dallas lately. There is a high of 95 forecast for Sunday, so I'm saving my MINI wrenching for then!

Just blew through here, really high winds, no hail, lots of intense rain. Now waning...
Outside temps dropped by darn close 30F. -

I fired up my car after work and the temp said 106 degrees. I hit the A/C switch real quick.

Glad you are OK. We had quite the blow up here too. A couple of trees down in the wetland. No damage.
Our power went off at 5. We still have cold beer. We are holding our own... -
I heard it was 82mph gusts up in Dublin... yikes.

Well ....we have been without power since 5PM yesterday. Just finished cleaning up all the debris from 85 mph straight line winds. I feel like I'm Amish! AEP Ohio says that it may be Tuesday before we see the lights on.

Unless you are in N Florida, in which case you just fly on through, don't slow down, don't look, don't care about anybody else.
It sounds really bad up there!
I hope everyone gets power and clean water back soon. -

We were also lucky. No power from 5:00 to 11:30. Not bad living the Amish life for a short time. The local news readers are saying some folks may be without power for 5 to 7 days. Yep we are very lucky here.

Just heard from my friend Bill a few miles west of me. Tree on his son's car & on the garage roof. Luckily his 1962 Austin Healey is undamaged. He is still without power. I may have a Healey living in my garage for a while.
