Still no power here... I'm really not expecting to see power before Tuesday. Took the wife for breakfast at Cracker Barrel and saw a convoy in the parking lot of Arkansas utility trucks all having high carb breakfasts. Making cold brew tea to go with a bag of ice. I'm still cutting up trees and branches. Getting a real workout. Will be glad to go to the office in the morning.
You guys feel free to come to our house in Hooterville & cool off. We have power, but a couple of times yesterday it went off for a minute or two. Guess it is from work on the neighboring power lines.
Drove up to the big city yesterday. 108°, air conditioner on sitting at a stop light thru 3 cycles. Gives a whole new meaning to the word heatsoak. Could hardly get the li'l guy rolling till the intercooler kicked in.
Thanks Chuck... I'm havin way too much fun with the chain saw... All I need is a white hockey mask and you can call me Jason.... Feels like a sauna here..... Just came in for a quick cold shower and some ice tea. Gonna give it a rest now... Maybe jump back in later on...... Or maybe not.... I pretty much got most of the mess cut up.... Need to attack the rest with a rake.... My neighbor across the street is Gordon Gee.... Didn't see him come out with his chainsaw, but I saw a whole bunch of OSU grounds workers makin his place look spiffy.....
Looks like another storm is about to hit Columbus. Hope all it does is rain and remove some of the heat. We've already seen what mother nature can do when she's ..... Well angry... I've been a good boy momma...
The center of this one has 60mph straight line winds. Looks like it's going to get south Columbus. Still no power here!
Really dark to south of us. Rain & wind here, but nothing bad. Pickaway & Ross county are going to get nailed. Lots of hail down there.
Friday's storm that did all this damage from Ohio to Virginia is known as a Super Derecho. Had never heard of such a storm type before.
Well today areas north of Columbia, SC got hit with some good storms. I left the house to go see a friend of mine in NC, temp at home was 107. Upon returning after the storm moved thru the temp was 78. My wife said we had rain, hail and high winds. Saw more power line company trucks headed north on I-77, they were from FL. Help is on its way so hang in there.
Drove thru the storm tonight around Mt Sterling while on my way to UK for daughters orientation. Nasty storm. I hope it missed u up in C-bus. Passed a lot of util trucks heading north while we were in Kentucky. They weren't wasting time. All left lane, pedal down, yellow lights flashing.
