How many miles has it been sense you had the intake walnut blasted? That is also a sign of carbon build up. It may also be the MAS.

Tuesday next week I’m doing the two VVT solenoids because I threw another code again and everything else is good and I’m thinking that 119k it’s time to pull them out and look too see if gunked up? She’s running super but idle is up and down sometimes not all the time~~

What year is your Mini? If it is a gen2 S they need the intake walnut blasted about every 40k. If the valves are getting build up it will start by having idle issues once it gets bad enough it will have a valve stick then it’s bad news

Do you mean from the intercooler
    exit towards the throttle body?
I already replaced the one from the intake
filter housing to the turbo inlet.
Do you take off the lock bridge to
get to that (big U shaped metal part
that goes over it in the photo)?

    More curbside repairs at home
    New MAF the other day
    Didn’t fix 2B5C (P115C) code
Today: New throttle body and also removed
intake and looked at the intake valves
They had a layer of black crusty stuff
but not too bad so I hit them directly
with some Seafoam spray and a compact
toothbrush then some canned air 2 intakes
at at time, turning the crank in between
so I was working on closed valves.
All back together now, Seafoam smoked
out, and the code isn’t coming back
whereas it was happening every time I drove the car before.
It’s nice when things go right.
    Yay!!
I think the problem was with the throttle body.

Question for anyone my R56 I’ve been using 93 octane is that overkill or is 89 or 87 recommended?

    I would recommend 91 or 93.
I use 93, usually ethanol free.

I have always run 93 in our MINI's. Your car will pull timing with a lower octane fuel. Less power, but I don't think it will hurt itself.

Is your MINI a Cooper S or a non-turbo Cooper?
