I've picked up several of these. You're right...a much better mag!

    Ok, let me rephrase...

Keep up the mediocre work Barry. I still have hopes...but things will not improve until you start listening to customers and critics.

    War is hell.

I subscribed last year and then got a bunch of back issues because I have an R53. The older issues had more material.

I saw Subie Sport start, over extend and die. I nitch mag is tough. I would recommend the following to Berry:
    • Stop trying to sell products, it's a waist of time and money. Although I did benefit from great deals on the stuff you couldn't sell.
    • Don't worry about the "news" because the internet has you beat.
    • Keep up and improve the event coverage (but get the dates right)
    • Do more features like installs, product reviews, how-tos, and mod ideas.

The MINI crowd is tech savvy and we're online all the time, so you need something different.

I have noticed that there is a new generation of MINI owner coming. It's the 20 something crowed buying 1st gen cars. The people that can cater to them with information, as in a publication, e-zine, or website, or inexpensive products are going to benefit from the new group.

When my renewal comes due I'll make a decision between MC2 and the UK mag. MM is the same price in e form.

Doesn't that exchange rate turn the MM mag into a VERY expensive alternative!!

yeah, I'd like to see more of "our" cars featured with how they did what they did to it.. the fine details ( wheel/tire size, suspension setup, engine mods, etc etc)...... Helps gives other ideas on what they want to do to theirs.. Was not a fan of the older Mini series/articles that ran for 2 years or more..
The 1st Gen cars are now getting to a price point that the younger crowd can afford them. Plus they are more mod friendly, engine wise atleast.

I think the price is totally worth it to me, it's got good content and you can re-read it several times and still find something new, not like the other which is a 5 minute and done read. My 2 cents.

You can read MC 2 cover to cover in one 5 min bathroom session.

It's just too bad they didn't perforate the pages and make them softer.

:cornut: Just me......................I'm a proud member of MA. I love it here. Nathan has done a fantastic job of keeping MA focused and up beat and gently keeping controversial personalities like DaveO. and me(there are many others) from being too over bearing. I also like MC2 magazine and my subscription is paid up through 2016( please resist the temptation gentlemen). I like the Magazine. Barry Brazier's personality gets on some peoples nerves. Being raised by my 'off of the boat' Scottish Mother, I understand and accept his manner better than most. To me MC2 is one of my pleasures, world changing no but, one of my small pleasures. Also, probably due to my Scottish heritage, I just feel that we should give the 'Brit' a chance...................just me.

Not to change the slant of this thread, but isn't ALTA kinda like the JC Whitney of the MINI world?

Yep....they manufacture nothing themselves (although they lead you to think they do) and promote their products through strong marketing. (c'mon, a rear sway bar with welded on ends?) Not being negative, just don't like their products.
