So the time lapse video for the clutch job, both of them, the guy popped the outer ball joint off the knuckle. Suppose I shall do the same. Dave, feel like coming over? Ha!

Girlfriends and cars do not mix well, wives are not much better but jewelry helps.

    noted for future reference.

Tomorrow after church I will take my 20% coupon to harbor freight for a ball joint separator and go to town on the subframe and hopefully get the clutch out.

I still need to figure out if the valeo clutch kit is neutrally balanced.

Got the ball joints off the Control arm by using a floor jack and some well positioned whacks.

Transmission bolts are all free, all brackets and etc clear. Time to divorce the two.

Support the engine, then put a floor jack under the tranny and away she goes...

Engine has a brace up above and the transmission jack under it at the moment

The Valeo kit has a smaller clutch surface area than the oem clutch. The flywheel came out easily with my craftsman impact gun.

Also I think I found a witness mark on the Valeo flywheel to match up to the flywheel.

Not sure if the Valeo flywheel is neutrally balanced or not. Anyone here know?

    Back in!

I used my cherry picker to lift the transmission up and we slid it home after removing the passenger side half shaft.

Lunch time now and then reassembly. Replaced the crank sensor seal. It was totally shrunk

    .5 miles behind Magic Kingdom

so got it all together, took it for a spin. Man is the clutch different now.

Get home, go to move it again and it does not start! I got lights on the dash and then "click" and nothing at all.

Currently trying to figure it out. We have narrowed it down to one of the red cables coming off of the battery. But I do not recall messing with those at all

Car will not start now. We are getting a short somewhere on the thin red cable from the trunk.

Did you hook the ground cable up near the passenger side motor mount?

Look for a ground cable loose somewhere....double check the battery cables are tight.

uhhhh what? I do not recall any sort of ground cable when removing the subframe.

I was able to start the car multiple times and drive it around and then I went to start it and nothing. No electrical power anywhere.

Is there a Body Control Module on this car?

We have narrowed the short down to somewhere forward engine fuse box(fuse block next to the air filter). Yet when pulling fuses and watching the resistance nothing changed.

Now get a dampened crank pulley such as the ATI.

    Replace that seal too.

I was dumb and ordered the PRW from Way... But the box was already on the truck and I couldn't swap it out. and I didn't think of doing the front main. I already did the rear... oh well.

The pulley is almost off, I just need a longer bolt for the crank snout since I do not want to risk damaging the threads by backing out the oem crank bolt.

But its coming out nicely. I need to rotate the crank a little bit so the puller clears the body.

The serpentine belt tool is perfect to wedge against the seat and brake pedal by the way.
