However, for colors that were/continue to be available for longer periods of time, that does not necessarily translate to how rare the color is overall on MINIs motoring around out there. Mellow Yellow was available for several years (like some of the other colors), but that doesn't necessarily mean folks were too terribly keen selecting the color to paint their prized MINI given that everyone is able to specifically choose their own colors during the build process - some colors are simply more popular than others. There are of course colors that regardless of how long they are/were available, may wind up being extremely rare on MINIs simply because most potential pilots may wish to tend to their previously digested lunch looking at it or MINI may realize the idea was better left in the closet in the paint can:smile5:. I'm still trying to figure out if the dealer's comment is generally accurate - that of all the colors that were not only available but requested to be painted, does Mellow Yellow make up less than 5% of the total (requested) production run? If that's true, what about some of the other colors? What other colors make up less than 5% of the total requested production run?

Perhaps my question overall is pointless anyway as all MINIs are like fingerprints - totally unique (if so, I apologize)? As it is I can honestly say I have never seen any two MINIs exactly alike - EVERY MINI is exceptional and therefore I suppose the question of scarcity of any option itself is redundant. To me it's still an interesting question, though, and I'd love to hear anyone's confirmation.
