that's a lot of money for an untested chassis. But WTF, if you've got it, why not spend it on something like this? Think the local DMV would notice if I swapped VIN numbers and ran it on the street?

No, no no, that was the old British cars with Lucas electricals that you needed 2 cars...one to drive and a second to drive when it rained and the first one wouldn't start

well, they're ALL untested really. With the new FIA rules, everybody is starting nearly at zero. There's a reason Subaru got out of the WRC and left Prodrive looking for a new manufacturer to partner with

I'm not really on top of WRC

but I though Subaru got out cause they couldn't catch the Ford or Citroen...

Anyway, it will be an interesting year for sure.

well, there's that too. Mitsubishi got out a few years prior. I think the death knell for Subaru was the new format. They didn't have any intention (nor financial resources) to develop a bespoke 1.6L.
