As an overly optioned, limited edition MINI with a custom paint job, the price isn't outrageous. Rather, the price isn't more outrageous than a typical overly optioned, unlimited edition MINI without a custom paint job.

    WC50 Rumor

:Thumbsup:I heard a rumor, strictly rumor, that our own Nathan was on the list to get one. I sure hope that it's true. He will properly care for it and provide a good home. :cornut: Jason

    I am?

I was at MINI of Dallas today but only to pick up some parts and visit my MINI. Didn't even pop over to the sales side.

The only thing I like is the color, the rest of the bits and baubles are not for me.

Now I am #1 on the list at both local dealers for the Coopster.

This JCW WC50 will be a piece to add to the collection in about 20+ years...

I am not the one to talk since I optioned out my '06 JCW with just about everything, but does anyone think that $40,000+ Mini is somewhat contradictory to the original spirit of the marquee? An affordable people mover?

I think the "affordable people mover" idea was tossed out the window when BMW made the car a small luxury car.

Lets not forget that BMW went in a very linear direction when they relaunched MINI...if you want an "affordable people mover" go buy a Caravan...that is what they are for...long gone are the days where Mini fit into such a pigeon hole as "people mover"

I'm not one for bringing up corporate missteps, but does anyone have an idea as to why MINI put all these rare interior pieces in place but not the JCW suspension?

I think it is actually pretty self explanatory. More show then go. How many more sets of bling stuff do you think they sell versus performance parts (such as they are).

    WC50 Rumor

:cornut: I think that I follow your line of thought. So.......(they think that we think{got that?}) 1.) We will mainly garage this car and won't push it on the track or street;therefore not needing JCW/Sport Suspension or......2.)If we do want track/ spirited street then we will purchase JCW/Sport Suspension at the dealer and in the mean time....they don't have to add $2k to the sticker price. Yes? Clear as mud? Jason

I never understood garage or carpet queens :eek:ut:

I do like the majority of the car, I guess it just ends up being compared to a GP (fair or otherwise) simply because of the price. But then again, it is a JCW.

Now, back to what I do like. Does anyone know how they get the headlights that color? It looks like a joey mod to me, but I'm guessing its something else. Either way it's sweet.
