Hi, new to this forum and I've only had a MINI for about a month...
but I just wanted to say thanks. I was at Mid Ohio on Friday and somebody put a "Nice Mini" card in my driver's window sill. It was a very nice gesture - thanks!
I've been taking pictures of the whole weekend up there and I plan to be back on sunday. I'll share the pics here after I get them processed.
Thanks again!
Rick

Being at Mid Ohio was fun and especially this year when MINI/Mini is marque at the GVGP, but I was misinformed about the meal my club had planned for the Mini racers, so I only got a 2-day ticket and returned this evening. Crap...now I will also miss the big race tomorrow.:frown5:

This was kind of challenging to read, either you are still drunk or suffering heat stroke (totally just kidding:biggrin5
.
Glad you all had nice weather this weekend. It was pretty nasty on the east side on Saturday afternoon/evening, so I was wondering how it was up there. Looking forward to seeing everyone's pics. -

Mid-Ohio is spending way too much money on fertilizer for the grass and trees....

It does have the vintage polaroid look to it.

Nah. Between the rain and all the extra CO2 generated by race cars the grass and trees are well fed.

No bid would have landed the Tudor Series at Mid-Ohio. The France family HAD to have a race at one of THEIR road courses....Kansas. They have really screwed that series up with constant rule changes and substantially increased costs for the team owners, but that's a topic for another thread at the end of their inaugural season.

I know it is a whole different animal than F1, but is there some type fee that the tracks must pay to host an event? Is there one for NASCRAP?
I get that the France's wanted an event at one of their venues, but that would also imply that all the other tracks had more to offer/guarantee than Mid-Ohio. I've never been to any other track besides Mid-Ohio, so I don't know how it stacks up as far as facilities go (excluding the track itself). -

Anyone know why they cut the big Mini race in half - during the damn race?
-
I wish I could've gotten to introduce myself, but my only down time was during the high power group enduro on sunday... and quite frankly, I couldn't even hear myself think when those guys were out on the track :-(
In any case, here's some pics of the race days. Mostly Mini, a few MINI, but also quite a few of the other SVRA classes.

Not sure I've got an answer but will check with a couple of folks and try for a timely reply. I heard the announcer say 15 minute session somewhere in the beginning and couldn't believe my ears. Said something to Steve afterwards and he didn't know either... Disappointing to be sure but must have been due to scheduling all that went with the Mini Challenge event and the other classes that had to be run as well. -
wmwny Well-Known MemberPerhaps they do, but the ones on MY car are flame orange, to match the dragon on my roof and the neon orange bonnet stripes..

Red orange or orange red, what's the difference? They look good.
