Hi, new to this forum and I've only had a MINI for about a month...

but I just wanted to say thanks. I was at Mid Ohio on Friday and somebody put a "Nice Mini" card in my driver's window sill. It was a very nice gesture - thanks!

I've been taking pictures of the whole weekend up there and I plan to be back on sunday. I'll share the pics here after I get them processed.

    Thanks again!

    Rick

Stop down at the bottom of the esses by the Honda bridge and say hello. That's where the MoM folks hang out. We are on the fence line with 2 pop up canopies. One checkered.

Being at Mid Ohio was fun and especially this year when MINI/Mini is marque at the GVGP, but I was misinformed about the meal my club had planned for the Mini racers, so I only got a 2-day ticket and returned this evening. Crap...now I will also miss the big race tomorrow.:frown5:

Congrats John and Steve! Consistent day and an 18th spot at the end. Car looked great on track and Steve's lap times were consistently 1:48 to 1:49 from where I was timing. Great results for never having run Mid-Ohio before this weekend. It's a technical track.

Congrats on a fine race. The way I figure it you guys finished much higher when you discount all those Mini's that were modified way beyond the rules your Mini was built to.

Very nice meeting you guys! Thanks for coming to Ohio land of the donut munching silverback, it was big fun watching you out there. Have a safe trip home to the great irrigated desert. :D

What a great week end at the track. I little warm, a little rain, but great racing. We have to wait for the last race and were initially disappointed to see only 3 cars come out. But that '67 Camaro gave us a real show.

Got to meet show great new friends too. I get pics up by he weekend.

This was kind of challenging to read, either you are still drunk or suffering heat stroke (totally just kidding:biggrin5:).

Glad you all had nice weather this weekend. It was pretty nasty on the east side on Saturday afternoon/evening, so I was wondering how it was up there. Looking forward to seeing everyone's pics.

The 67 Camaro. The highlight of the weekend. He drove the crap out of this car!

The fact that the camera on your phone seems to be stuck on some type of retro filter really worked well for these pictures.

I've made an appointment with my optometrist. Guess I can cancel now that I know hipster filters were applied to the pictures & my eyes are not failing with a case of cadillacs.

I was going to ask if it was a picture from when that car originally ran at Mid-Ohio...

Mid-Ohio is spending way too much money on fertilizer for the grass and trees....

That's probably why they couldn't put in a competitive bid on landing one of the dates on the Tudor series calendar.

Nah. Between the rain and all the extra CO2 generated by race cars the grass and trees are well fed.

No bid would have landed the Tudor Series at Mid-Ohio. The France family HAD to have a race at one of THEIR road courses....Kansas. They have really screwed that series up with constant rule changes and substantially increased costs for the team owners, but that's a topic for another thread at the end of their inaugural season.

I know it is a whole different animal than F1, but is there some type fee that the tracks must pay to host an event? Is there one for NASCRAP?

I get that the France's wanted an event at one of their venues, but that would also imply that all the other tracks had more to offer/guarantee than Mid-Ohio. I've never been to any other track besides Mid-Ohio, so I don't know how it stacks up as far as facilities go (excluding the track itself).
