Not a bad looking color, but I still think the matte look it is a fad.

It also looks like you paid how much extra for a car painted in Primer?

Yeah Dave, it looks good, but 90% of people will not be able to keep it looking like that... Cant use wax, cant buff it out, touchups are a PITA, matte black especially is real sensitive to UV rays and will discolor fast if not taken care of.

Thankfully the production numbers are very limited, or I have a feeling that paint warranty work will skyrocket on them.

It can be kept good, and even brought back once it starts to discolor pretty easy, but who here knows how to do it?

There is something to be said about a matte factory finish for those that want the look without having to deal with wraps or repaints.

Sure, it takes extra work to keep it up and one really needs to have a garage too. I'd not get one because I only have street parking, but if I had a garage and was in the market and had another vehicle for bad weather days, then I'd consider the matte Paceman.

if you read the article...there are only 60 being produced...60!!! this is going to be one expensive MINI (think Goodwood dollars) and those who are going to be able to afford it probably aren't gonna be too worried about uv fade or fender benders...the frozen paint for a BMW (LIST PRICE in Canada) was the cost of a MINI Cooper...how much more is it going to inflate the cost of a Countryman All4 JCW?

I can't imagine what you do if it gets in a fender bender. No regular body show has the process. Are insurance companies going to charge more for this paint option?

It looks nice but I'll pass.

If you want matte black, get it wrapped. It can be repaired if damaged, it's easy to maintain, and when you get tired of the look or if/when matte black goes out of style, you simply remove it.
