GP 0717 is going to be an interesting sale. Even though the car has a lot of miles and some body work it has been maintained at a decent level and looks good.

THAT is NOT a lot of miles for an '06 MCS [GP, OR JCW]. It merely shows that the owner loved his/her car and drove it...unlike those who sell these cars with very few miles and who obviously don't know how great the '06 R53 Generation was.

You’re absolutely correct in your assessment but people who are buying these cars are looking for low mileage examples and are willing to pay a premium for them. That’s what makes this particular auction interesting in that the car is a very clean well maintained higher mileage car that by all rights should fetch $22-25,000 and if it doesn’t then it will be because of the mileage.

That car makes me miss my MINI. That there is one beautiful car. It will be tough not bidding on it for old time sake. Hope it gets a good home with someone who really enjoys it & drives the wheels off.

I know you're a stick shifter from way back, but so was I until aging wrecked my knees to the point where I couldn't shift manually without wincing. So, since 2004, I have been driving MINIs without 6-speeds. No, they are not as quick as a 6-speed, but, man oh man, do my knees ever feel better!

That's why I bought a 2006 MCSa new in Dublin and still have it today. Best damned car and make I ever had.

With just under twenty four hours of bidding left the 114,000 mile R53 JCW GP is at $9,200. Last couple of hours of this auction should prove very interesting for this very clean car.

The 114,000 mile R53 GP sold for $22,000. It was a very slow auction until the last half hour and then the bidding took off.

The 48,000 mile 2009 MCS 6-Speed sold for $12,750. Looked to be a well maintained car with the JCW Aero kit.

With about twenty seven hours of bidding left the 42,000 mile 2005 Chili Red R53 6-Speed is at $5,300. Appears to be in good shape and should make someone a very nice ride.

On the other hand people have already gotten their returns back are looking for things to buy. I think if this car has problems selling is that convertibles never do as well as hardtops and the last couple of hardtops have not performed that well at auction.

I sold my 2007 R56 to a local club couple, for 9K, it was a good deal back in 2016, I imagine I would buy it back for 5K, if the wanted to sell it back. It was pretty low mileage at tthe time, not sure if they have driven it much. It was pretty modified when I sold it, Jan Tune, lowered swift springs, DBA rotors, ecb brake pads, koni yellows and a bigger rear sway, 22 I think it was, would update to 25 hollow and put on lowest setting. The 270 TQ and 220 HP make for some interesting rotation on track.

So a 90k R56, might bring 7-8 if in decent condition but I would immediately due the WP, and Timing chain, tensiioner etc.

    Just my thougts.
