    There was a recent thread with that car over on NAM. The seller has 3 1st gen JCW’s, a Checkmate, the one above on BaT, and a Sidewalk cabrio, and was asking opinions on which JCW he should keep.

    He decided to keep the Checkmate and the Sidewalk cabrio is on autotrader, but from a post about a week ago it looks like there’s still a possibility of changing his mind if anyone is interested in the Checkmate. It’s supposed to be a factory built JCW Checkmate and one of only 301 world wide.

    It's at $8k right now. Probably the closest car to Rufus yet (though I may have destroyed value by mods). Go little green car, go! :D

    The 32,000 mile 2006 R53 JCW sold for $18,750. Recent auction sales would indicate that this was a good deal for the buyer.

    And the 2005 is the right color combo too. Where does Geneva find these cars, the 05 looks it came out of Texas. A carfax 1 owner... That is some good sleuthing. :) For some the auto is a drawback but at 75 not so much for me. Whine, whine whine, little SC. :)

    If you buy the above listed JCW, remove/replace the sprintex SC, they break, if not carefully maintained.

    Oh! I'm gonna be watching this one! This is the closest to Rufus that I've seen... a similar gen JCW w/ about the same miles and in strong condition.

    That train has left the station. It was a hard transition to go to the GTI, but now I'd never go back. If I feel the need for a MINI fix I'll take Babs clubster out for a fling.
