It might be tough selling this car at a good price with the income tax deadline so close at hand....

This one looks nice, the mid miles work is already done, now someone can drive and fix as needed. Of course, this old man would like a 6 speed, but I really think an automatic would be a nice option in my old age. :)

Still playing around with my 2020 Clubbie, it is hard for me to make up my mind to sell or trade it off, only 2800 miles. :)

The 83,000 mile 2006 R53 6-Speed sold for $13,888. The last twenty three minutes of bidding were really action packed. I believe the seller did well with this sale.

That's a nice price for an R53 JCW. I'm now hopeful that I'd actually get all of the $ out of Rufus that I've poured into him in the past 4-5 years.

Have you enjoyed your car in the last 4-5 years? If so, then the money was well spent. Whatever you would sell your car for, could you get another with the same options for the same price today?

My first car was a 1959 Morris Mini Minor 850...I had it in the early 60s. After that, it was on to college and the 1966 VW Bug, and then without any foreign car until I retired from teaching. I always knew I wanted another Mini, but never dreamed it would take so long. My early '03 R50 was the first of the 3 MINIs I currently own [the other two are 2006 R53s. The R50 is very slightly modded, but so puny that, after attending MOTD in 2005, I bought my second MINI, the Royal Grey R53 and modded it for Dragon running as well as BMWCCA stuff. This is my daily driver and former MOTD and track car. It has 162,000miles on it and I NEVER bought it as an investment...just for a fun-to-drive car. The third R53 is for my wife and is totally unmodded.

Like you, I enjoy owning my Gen 1 MINIs and know that, "the finances are not completely unjustified". By the way, "fuck the expense" briefly came into mind when it was time to replace the CVT in my R50 25,000 miles ago...just a brief hiccough, though...right before it went into its "surgery".

Well, 28k for a GP with that mileage is insane, no matter how good the photos are :)

Imagine a 28k budget to build a proper R53 based on a a regular run of the mill R53. Different project though - not going to be the cars and coffee "look what I bought on BAT" unicorn in your town.

Not sure about this GP, kinda of a sordid background, all those suspension bits replaced make me think it was driven off road or wrecked but not reported. JMO.

Not too sure about that… there were the $56,000 and $45,000 GP’s before this one. With 300 and 4K miles respectively, both of those made the GP with only 14 miles a steal at $36,000.
