The Dealer vs private owner has come up time to time in the comments on certain auctions. I personally have no info on the subject but it does come up often enough to make one think that there just might be something to it.

 

A new listing on BaT is a 2005 R53 with 53,000 miles.

Wowzer !!! The 17,000 mile Astro Black 2006 MCS JCW just sold for a whopping $25,000. The car had gone up incrementally to 20K and and with roughly 40 seconds to go a buyer jumped in with the 25K bid and won the car. Truly nice car but ….

 

The 2009 R56 JCW sold for $16,975.

 

With less than twenty four hours to go the 28,000 mile 2003 R53 is at $8600.

 

I wonder what made that particular vehicle so very valuable ??

 

Less than two hours to go on the GP2 and it’s now at $18,000.

 

With just three and a half hours remaining the
23,000 mile 2005 R53 is now at $14,500. We’ll see if the fact that it is an automatic hurts the final price.

 

A modified 33,000 mile 2006 GP1 is now for sale on BaT. This auction should prove to be interesting due to the visual modifications made to what some consider to be the holy grail of modern minis.

The GP1 was bid $19,750 but Reserve Not Met. It was claimed that the reserve was $25,000 and given the body modifications made no one was willing to pay that price.

 

With twenty one hours to go the 2002 MCS with 43,000 miles is at $6200.
