Holy CRAP! The 2006 JCW w/ 70k miles (lightly modded) just sold for $17.6k! I never thought I'd say it, but I think that if Rufus sold for that price, I'd probably make a profit on what I bought the car for some 4-5 years ago + parts! Well... maybe not a "profit" but I'd be right on the line of breaking even. That is NOT something that I ever expected to say about my Rufus project. I did it because it made me happy to do. I expected every penny that I poured into that little car to evaporate. I might even argue that my work on Rufus is a bit more in-depth as I did a bunch of preventative maintenance items and have upgraded brakes. To that car's credit, I've got 10k more miles than the one that sold and the seller seems to have a very good rep on BAT for turning well-sorted R53s.
Interestingly enough the 70,000 mile 2006 R53 JCW was for sale in Atlanta, Georgia for $10,500 then was bought and put on BaT by Geneva Motor Cars. Unless you’re trying to sell a car and are lucky enough to be accepted by BaT these prices may not represent what you could receive locally.
Geneva Motor Cars appears to have a well earned reputation in the selling of cars on BaT which could affect the selling price.
Watching BaT I makes me think I should put the Helmet on the sight. But then I would be with out a mini.
Ha! yes she does but I don't get to drive it. After 33 years of marriage and all those miles riding with me she doesn't trust me.......Go figure.
A 30,000 mile 2006 R53 JCW is now up for bids on BaT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-mini-cooper-s-jcw-24/
With two days to go the one owner 30,000 mile 2006 R53 JCW is at $17,000. The last hours of bidding should prove to be interesting on this car.
A 2002 19,000 mile R53 is now being offered for sale on BaT by Geneva Motor Cars. It a one owner car from Texas before being acquired by the selling dealer. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2003-mini-cooper-s-50/
