Yes it was! My wife said to bid but I really need to get rid of something first. That was a good deal. It was a lot of fun watching it also.
It really was a nice car that was mechanically A1 that’s gonna make the owner a great driver. You picked a bad time to not listen to your significant other.
A 63,000 mile Thunder Blue 2006 Mini Cooper S JCW GP #0489 is now being offered for sale on BaT. I remember this GP when it was on BaT the first time as it had a professionally done rear seat installation that caused a bit of a stir. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-mini-cooper-s-jcw-gp-18/

The 46,000 kilometer (29,000 mile) Thunder Grey Metallic 2013 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works GP was bid to $21,600 with Reserve Not Met. This is a Canadian MINI and as usual importation questions always come up. The prepared sellers have all the answers ready and this seller was not prepared which most likely really hurt this auction. Interestingly there have been some Canadian MINIS recently on BaT and all the needed info could have been gleaned from them.
The 17,000 mile Dark Silver Metallic 2005 Mini Cooper S Convertible JCW 6-Speed was bid to $16,001 with Reserve Not Met.
The 11,000 mile Dark Silver Metallic 2004 Mini Cooper S 6-Speed sold for $14,500. Nice low mileage car that should provide miles of smiles for its new owner.
A 7 mile Pink 2023 Moke America Moke Electric is now being offered for sale on BaT at No Reserve. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2023-moke-electric-lsv-4/
With about twenty four hours of bidding time remaining the 6,000 mile Chili Red 2011 Mini Cooper S is at $11,250. This truly is an immaculate car that should finish well. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2011-mini-cooper-s-9/#comments
With about twenty two hours of bidding time remaining the 63,000 mile 2006 Thunder Blue Mini Cooper S JCW GP is at $10,500. Nice car that is not getting a lot of love at the moment. @MCS02 what does your CFO say about this one ?? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-mini-cooper-s-jcw-gp-18/
The 6,000 mile original owner Chili Red 2011 Mini Cooper S sold for $20,000. Beautiful car that is probably nicer today than it was was when picked up at the dealership.
What ?? Just trying to be a caring thoughtful MINI enthusiast with giving you a heads up on a GP with a third of the miles of the last one. Plus this one has the ability to expand seating for grandchildren.
I wonder what the reserve was? I think the price of collector cars are coming down. He may wish he had not had the reserve so high.
I wonder if following the GP that sold for $15,055 hurt GP#0489 ?? High bidder today was also a bidder on this very car in February 2022 and back then he went over 24k plus he stated he still like to make a deal.
I think you may have a point, I am sure that low sale did not help. But it seems I am seeing a slight down tick across the board. A very nice 911 sold for 39k today. Last week I saw a pristine 308 GTS with all the records go for 65k, that was a deal. The. 308 GTB before that didn’t make reserve.
