With about twenty two hours to go the 2006 MCS convertible is at $9,200. This a very clean 30,000 mile in Hot Orange Metallic.
Bidding has been brisk on the 2006 MCS JCW which is now at $12,250 with just under six days of auction time left.
With just under two and a half hours left the 30,000 mile 2006 MCS convertible is at $9850. Last hour bidding usually gets a bit intense but this car just may end up being a steal.
A 18,000 mile 2008 MCS JCW convertible is now up for bids on BaT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-mini-cooper-s-john-cooper-works-7/
New listing on Bat is a 17,000 mile 2006 MCS JCW. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-mini-cooper-s-jcw-21/
There was a recent thread with that car over on NAM. The seller has 3 1st gen JCW’s, a Checkmate, the one above on BaT, and a Sidewalk cabrio, and was asking opinions on which JCW he should keep. He decided to keep the Checkmate and the Sidewalk cabrio is on autotrader, but from a post about a week ago it looks like there’s still a possibility of changing his mind if anyone is interested in the Checkmate. It’s supposed to be a factory built JCW Checkmate and one of only 301 world wide.
It seems his car got on the auction block earlier than he expected as I thought he was saying he had to wait at least eight weeks before a slot became available.
It doesn’t seem right, but I thought he said something about Dealers currently having priority over private sellers on BaT. I think the wait is the reason for the Sidewalk being on Autotrader instead..
The Dealer vs private owner has come up time to time in the comments on certain auctions. I personally have no info on the subject but it does come up often enough to make one think that there just might be something to it.
That 2006 JCW sold for 19k! Woot! Yeah... I know that mine has 80k+ on the clock and that one was at 31k, but mine has been very nicely re-done to a similar condition. That's a great price!
Less than twelve hours left on auction of 2006 R53 JCW with 17,000 miles. The latest bid is at $15,000 and it will probably sell for $20 -$22k.
