Reserve Not Met on the GP2 with a final bid of $18,250. Quite possibly the car being in Canada had something to do with the lack of bidding.
I've got the paperwork from when owner #2 brought my current R53 JCW (Rufus) from Canada to the US. It does NOT look like a simple process and I was still cleaning things up when I got the car (changing units from KM to Mi in the digital displays, for example). I do have, however, a non US option... a heated windshield. Very rare for a MINI in the US. The car is a garage queen with high performance summer tires mounted, so I haven't had the chance to test it to see if it's still working. If it's cold enough to need the windshield heater, it's too cold for the tires to provide proper traction (IMHO).
A 2006 R53 JCW with 32,000 miles is up for sale on BaT by Geneva Motor Cars. It looks to be a very clean car as one would expect from this seller. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-mini-cooper-s-jcw-26/
It's at $8k right now. Probably the closest car to Rufus yet (though I may have destroyed value by mods). Go little green car, go!
$9300 and 4 days to go. I have a feeling it'll hit $20k if not more being a late production JCW with an aero kit and excellent color combo.
10k and 2 days to go on the 2006 JCW. Go little green, go! I wonder if the seller of the Goodwood would sell the floormats?
The 32,000 mile 2006 R53 JCW sold for $18,750. Recent auction sales would indicate that this was a good deal for the buyer.
A 18,000 2004 R53 JCW is now being offered for sale on BaT by Geneva Motor Cars. The current bid is $13,000. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-mini-cooper-s-jcw-2/
With three days to go on the 18,000 mile 2004 R53 JCW is now at $15,525. The bidding has been wild for sure and maybe just a little bit crazy.
Once again Geneva Motor Cars has a clean low mileage 2005 R53 for sale on BaT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2005-mini-cooper-s-50/
With one day to go the 2004 R53 JCW is still at $16,000. Hard to believe that this car, nice as it is, could escalate in price much more than it has already but in twenty four hours we’ll know.
And the 2005 is the right color combo too. Where does Geneva find these cars, the 05 looks it came out of Texas. A carfax 1 owner... That is some good sleuthing. For some the auto is a drawback but at 75 not so much for me. Whine, whine whine, little SC.
