Not a fan of this decision. I have nothing against the CM or PM but adding bits and bobbles does not make it a JCW and a JCW used to mean something.

I think MINI is diluting the brand by doing this. If you want to offer the buyer a JCW, then make it a JCW regardless of what model it is.

This is no different than someone ordering JCW badges and door sills for their Cooper. Sure it looks nice, but its not a JCW.

Over the weekend I saw a MINI at a car show that has MINI Wing badges with BMW in the center. Folks, it's a MINI, not a BMW! Same issue in my book. If you want to drive a BMW, buy one.....if you want a JCW, buy one! (done with my rant now)

Indeed they were Jim. Modified (after market) Justa's. I know how much this upsets the "S" group, but it is the truth.

As for the Badgeing and such it does not bother me that much. Only die hard MINI owners know what it means. Most others have no clue at all.

No jab intended to Jim, Jim. Justa called it like I see it. Selling JCWs as nothing more than decal kits is very sad. :(

    Killing the brand

Ever since BMW started building JCWs in the MINI factories, the John Cooper Works name has been getting more and more diluted. It's getting to the point that "JCW" won't mean any more than "SS" did on Chevrolets. (A Tahoe SS? Gimme a break!) :eek:ut:

Fortunately, Chevy recently decided that in the future the SS designation only will be applied to the few vehicles that really deserve it. I hope BMW is that smart with the JCW brand. :fingerscrossed:

MINI is doing its best to dilute the John Cooper Works legacy.
