I saw that the JCW will be at 212hp. How does that compare to last year's?

Any word on what changed to get these extra HP? Did they change anything up or is it all in the tuning?

Probably new engine mgmt. tuning, or is the 2010 when they start valvetronic??
-
Huh...
Why wait for March?!? Unless there is a stockpile of motors lying around (which we all know is not the case thanks to Just-In-Time-Production)
Why not impliment the change NOW??? -

MINI 2010 specs
I found the specs for all the new models. Looks like the JCW is a very modest HP increase. The S will get a bump up to very nice 184HPAttached Files:

208 HP @ 6000
192 Ft. Lbs @ 1850 - 5600 with over boost to 207
Mine has fully variable valves, but couldn't find where they call it "valvetronic", which I thought was because that name was exclusive to BMW name branded cars.:confused5:
I also suspect they were able to increase the HP by tweeking the electronics (they are slowly moving from conservative to conservative -1, with engine risk taking).:eek6: -

I though BMW called is Vanos.
VANOS (Variable Nockenwellen Steuerung) is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by BMW in close collaboration with Continental Teves. VANOS varies the timing of the valves by moving the position of the camshafts in relation to the drive gear. This movement varies from 6 degrees of advanced to 6 degrees of retarded camshaft timing. -

we know the JCW is conservatively rated. That said, I'd like to know real-world gains with basic bolt-ons and tuning. I'm toying with the idea of a JCW Clubman but for the money, just might end up with a late year 996.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Not a 996.

I know...the bastard child of the 911 world. That's the beauty though.....aesthetics aside, they are still 911's and can be had for cheap.

The bump in hp is seen threw the Entire RMP Band not just in the top end so its a new tune and makes the new cars run with a little bit more pep
We just got ours and its a big difference in pep all around
Very Nice -

If it's really just a tune, would it be possible to administer it to the 08's and 09's? Not that 3hp is anything to get super excited about....
