One does have to consider the source. Auto Express News is the National Enquirer / Weekly World News of the automotive realm.

Everybody and their brother are still trying to squeeze into the shrinking SUV market. To say that MINI is targeting R.R. is optimistic: Range Rover's quality and reliability are quite abysmal, so it would seem like low-hanging friut, but they also would be competing with several very good Japanese models. Mini should stay focused upon (or return to) their core competency: small, fun, stylish, efficient cars.

    AMEN bro!

Even the clubbie is pushing it for me. And the Countryman is an abomination IMHO.

Is that "dramatic" roofline set to become their trademark, much like Audi's awful shield grill?

Cause it's bloody horrible.....looks like a god awful toupee' to me......

And it's not even original - it's a straight copy of the Toyota FJ, which actually did it better IMHO.....

    Mini is on crack ....

I did some reading on the Land Rover Evoke. It's based on a small (for LR) CUV concept. LR is doing both a three and five door variants. This makes sense for LR because they have to go smaller for lots of reasons. But from what little is out there it looks like to Evoke is a four seat two door. A two door two seat is just market suicide. But then, if it did have four seats, what would it do to both Clubbie and Countryman sales? I sure hope it's BS cause if it's not, I don't see how Mini will make any return on investment.
