    I really want the Diesel to come to the states. Diesel costs about the same as the premium I'm currently filling my R53 with. I'd get the diesel and use it to commute and work on the R53 =)

    This was discussed on Motoringfile and Whiteroof Radio last week. MINI can't make a valid business case for the diesel in the US because of the need for R&D on a urea system and new engine & drivetrain. MINI USA figured that just to break even they would have to equal sales volume of the MCS and then charge $34-35k for a base model diesel over a 3-year timeline.
