Designer DENIS SIMACHEV and tuning studio TOPCAR teamed up to create a limited series of cars based on the MINICooper with individual design. The first was laid down the general idea. It is to break the stereotype of women as a MINI car and turn it into an evil, ugly car kid. At the moment released the first model - # 1 and # 2. :frown2: I think that he's missed the boat. They're not that different from current Minis. A little paint, a little change of chrome, I look at it and immediately say,"Ah Mini with slightly altered furnishings/accessories."Also the writing seems to have been translated by computer as the syntax is all wrong. I don't think that the Mini is feminine to begin with. It's a gender immaterial British,German,French(and other countries) Sports/Saloon Car. But that's just my opinion. Jason
The press release is from Russia, hence the stilted language. Also keep in mind that Russian gender views are quite different than ours here in the US. There are tons of very subtle changes on the car. Look at the areo kit again, very different from any of the OEM offerings. If I had one major quibble it would be the stance. These cars are begging to be dropped.
That is the best front bumper and rear diffuser I've seen on the R56, IMHO. WOW! The rest, interior especially, is a bit too bling for me.
Well, if anyone wants a Russian translation, just let me know. The graphics I could do without. The leather work is nice, but I could do without the Lambo style headrest logos. The wheels on the first one are a little PU. Love the lights in the front bumper. Reminds me of the current Porsches. Also the front graphics on the first one are a very nice interpretation of the big mouth look. The graphics guys should take note of that one.
Couldn't they have spent a couple of bucks and done an Engrish version of their website (http://topcartuning.com)? Come on people this is a global village. I recognize all of 2 words, Porsche and turbo
Nice front and rear bumper. Graphics, not so much. I could handle the translation OK. I feel a little sorry for our Canuck buddies to the north, as they now have to translate it into Canadian. LOL
The only thing I like about this car is the seats. (minus the stupid headrest logo) I'm so dying to find a set of "good" seats, I can't stand it. I like these seats (though they are not harness friendly) because they have matching front and rear as opposed to buying a set of JCW recaro's. Where do we get seats like that? Mark
Where? your local custom upolstery shop can whip out a set for you.... I was all set not to like this, but the more I looked at it the more I found I DID like it - especially the white one - even the goofy graphics on the rear quarters.
The front bumper looks good on the white one with the black trim, but the rest just looks overdone to me.
I'd love to see #2 in the sun. The chameleon graphics are intriguing. I'd probably never do it myself, but I would still love to see it.
Love the LED's on the front of the first one, also a big fan of the seats as well. The center controls looked different to me for some reason, just might be the color. Both designs fit well with my idea of MINI, which is to be a bit different.
