Mini has two concepts in the works — a two-passenger coupe and an open-top speedster – but it is unknown which model will debut first. Both concepts are said to be based on Mini’s R57 platform. Incidentally, the production version of the Mini crossover will also debut in Frankfurt. It’s speculated that the company may bring along a two-seat concept to give the impression that a Mini is still all about having fun behind the wheel. What we can be sure of is that the Mini variant that will show up would have the same potent but fuel-efficient drivetrains as the current models. Given the small size of a two-passenger Mini, the eventual production version could become the performance benchmark for the entire lineup.
A swoopy MINI coupe would be a good in a two passenger. Nice big rear area for luggage or golf clubs. Of course only with a Big A, engine, pumping respectable HP.
