For the eighth year in a row, Prestige MINI of Ramsey and its customers made the holidays brighter for patients of the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House, a division of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center.

With their cars fully loaded, the owners of several MINI Coopers and their families delivered toys and other items to the Children’s House, a state-designated Regional Diagnostic Center for Child Abuse and Neglect, which has more than 7,000 patient visits annually.

"I cannot thank Prestige MINI enough for their continued support of the abused and neglected children we serve," said Dr. Julia DeBellis, medical director of the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House, HackensackUMC. "These toys represent the generosity and thoughtfulness of Prestige MINI and their customers and it means so much to our patients and their families. Every year, this event reminds our staff that people recognize and believe in the work we do here day in and day out to help children."

Many of the toys that were delivered had been purchased as part of the Season of Giving that Prestige organized. Customers could purchase an item on the Giving Tree, which was on display inside the dealership and on their website. Each tag on the tree represented an individual child’s wish for a particular gift. In addition, Prestige MINI also hosted an online donation drive this year. Financial donations made by Dec. 25 will be matched by Prestige MINI up to $25,000 and presented to the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House.

"Every year, we strive to improve on what we can do to help make the holidays brighter for these children," said Chris Turner, vice president, Prestige MINI of Ramsey. "The Giving Tree and the online donation drive came from ideas from our staff to create the first-ever Prestige Season of Giving."

Staff members of the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House wrapped many of the presents and distributed them to the children at the annual holiday party. This year, the party was held at the John Theurer Cancer Center at HackensackUMC and was hosted by Holiday Express, a non-profit organization, which entertained 65 patients and their families.

Live music was provided by the Holiday Express Band and dozens of Holiday Express volunteers entertained the children with various activities.

The remaining toys will be distributed to new patients of the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House throughout the year.
