If it had the Powerfold mirror the damage would be minimal

MINI's are like Jack Russels. They will take on anything, because they don't think they are small.

    Learn from this

You never want to pass a truck & Trailer on the right at an intersection. I guess the Mini driver never paid attention to the trucks turn signal. Trucks need to use both lanes when making a tight right hand turn. This is nothing new. It has always been this way. 99% of all trucks will have a sign on the back that says "Wide Turns" 99% of car drivers just don't pay attention. It is a shame this happened but it could easily have been avoided.

When Fracky hit the palm it pushed in the door 21 inches. The gas pedal and dead pedal were only about 5 inches apart.

    WOW....
I would say Fracky was pretty lucky. It doesn't look like you could walk away from that without it being a fatality.

Where was he sitting after the accident? Looks like he'd be in the passenger seat pretty twisted. He was pretty lucky...everytime I hear about a car and a tree...the tree always wins.

He was still in the seat  Like Chief said he had 5 inches apart from the dead pedal to the gas pedal and his foot fit perfectly wedged in there :eek6: When the car was towed to Custom Mini Shop, Steve was able to get his shoe out and Fracky still wears them  He had a passenger in the other seat and he ended up getting hurt, broken collar bone and messed up neck, but is good now. They said it was most likely because he didn't tighten up his harness, Fracky had full harnesses installed. Here is another pic during the tear down process, lets just say we got to see parts of a Mini that most people have never seen

He and his passenger were still in their seats. The car did what it was suppose to do.

I had some reservations about my 18 year old daughter getting my original 2004 IB/W Cooper until I saw Fracky's car and realized just how many safety devices are installed in our cars. Fracky's car continues to live in our hearts and minds and it is awesome to see his new creation take place. Can we say Carbon Fiber?
