Nobody puts together a weekend car event quite like the PittStop MINI Club. The MINI Car Show at Schenley Park takes place on German Hill overlooking turn 13 on the race track. At approximately 10:00 AM the Allegheny County Sheriffs will escort the long parade into Schenley Park in one continuous stream. There are prizes, awards and activities at the tent, with plenty of shade to watch the races and browse the car shows. MINIs of all years are welcome to participate. You don’t need to be a member of the PittStop MINI Club to participate, but after meeting the members we think you’ll agree that it’s a fun bunch of people that have great activities all year round. On a personal note, I attended this in 2012 and it is a hoot! Will be back for 2013.
I went a few years ago and it was a fun event that was very well organized by the Pitt Stop club. I may have to get up early again and do a cross state day trip again.
The registration page is being updated, should be up soon! Mini of Pittsburgh sponsors this event SO well that they even cover the car-show donation ($25/car) AND the food for Mini folks (worth > $10/person) and last year there were Frosty Brewed Beverages available as well! Also, for a donation of $40 on either weekend, you can get a demo lap of the course (as a passenger) in the "Track Ride" Minis, who provide warm (almost hot-ish) laps between heats at both Schenley Park and the previous weekend at PittRace! For more info on the Event itself: Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix | Presented by Shop 'n Save For registration (once we open it) go to Home - PittStop MINI Club Looking forward to seeing you there - I'll be driving the 3rd "Track Rides" Mini... and likely hosting an "after party" of some sort...
